In an interview with Attorney Jan Connell of the Pittsburgh Center for Peace on January 27, 1988, Connell asked the visionary Vicka Ivankovich if there were any other books Our Lady had told her about. Vicka replied:

"Yes. The Poem of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta, ten volumes. Our Lady says The Poem of the Man-God is the truth.  Our Lady said if a person wants to know Jesus he should read Poem of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta. That book is the truth."

The following Mp3 file is an audio excerpt from a broadcast transmitted December 1988 on Radio Maria.  Vicka Ivankovic accounts the Madonna's response to a question concerning the validity of Maria Valtorta's ten volume Gospel Narrative "The Poem of the Man-God": "They are true.  Yes, yes, true.  Authentic, yes.  You can read these, they are true."

During a broadcast interview on Mother Angelica's EWTN cable network, which aired an interview with Medjugorje seer Marija Pavlovic conducted by retired New Orleans Archbishop Philip Hannan. On March 4, 1992 on the Archbishop's Focus program, Bob, a call in viewer from Milwaukee asked Marija, on the air, "What exactly did our Lady say regarding the Poem of the Man-God?" Marija responded that our Lady told her, "You can read it" (1, 2).

As Marija Pavlovic recalled in an interview conducted by Sister Emmanuel Maillard, in 1982 a Franciscan from Mostar, Father Franjo, asked her to ask Our Lady if this book is true.  Marija then describes how she received a positive affirmation from the Madonna: "Our Lady says The Poem of the Man-God is the truth."  [cf. R. Laurentin, Dernieres Nouvelles de Medjugorje No 15, OEIL, 1996, p. 19]

Issue 34 (July-December 1986) of the "Bollettino Valtortiano" (Valtortian Bulletin), edited by the "Centro Editoriale Valtortiano", published the testimony of Giovanna Guggeri, music schoolteacher, endorsed by the signature of her brother, the lawer Ferdinando Guggeri, from Seregno (Milan). They attest what happened on August 15, 1985 at Bijakovici: "I showed Marija the score with canticles of the "Poem of the Man-God", in a booklet that I had brought from Italy in order to play the three canticles on the organ of the parish church. The visionary, hearing of Maria Valtorta and of the "Poem of the Man-God", from lighthearted became serious and said: "Maria Valtorta! Tutto vero Poema Uomo Dio. Madonna ditto due anni or sono: tutto vero! Dettato da Gesu!" [Maria Valtorta! All true. The Poem of the Man-God. The Madonna said two years ago: all true! Dictated by Jesus!] (These are the words spoken in Italian by the visionary)." ["Bollettino Valtortiano", No 34 (July-December 1986), p. 135]

In an interview with Elliot Miller and Kenneth Samples (who turned out to be critical of Medjugorje), Vicka Ivankovic confirmed Our Ladies endorsement of Maria Valtorta’s writings. The testimony can be found in their resulting book, "The Cult of the Virgin", Baker Book House, Grand Rapids, MI , 1992, p. 150.

The following is an excerpt from an email with permission to post:

In reference to Medjugorje, I was standing outside Vicka's house and she was asked the same question by three groups of pilgrims.  I heard Vicka say: “Our Lady says The Poem of the Man-God is the truth.  Our Lady said if a person wants to know Jesus, he should read the Poem of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta.  That book is the truth.”  Three times!  The first time was to an Italian group, and a woman in our group translated.  I stayed there to confirm this.  Vicka was asked the same question in English, and gave the same answer.  Another American group appeared, so I stayed and heard Vicka give the same reply for the third time.  This was during the week of the Assumption, 1981.  I remember it as if were yesterday!

I went home, purchased the set and read all of it to a blind friend of mine.  Sometimes for hours and hours.  We couldn't stop reading it.

Your brother in Christ Jesus, and His most sorrowful Mother,

+Deacon Joe (Virginia)
